Friday Sketchers 86 & Cute Card Thursday Challenge 96 : Fairy Fantastic

Wow, I can't believe it, but my hubby took Ben out to see his grandparents to 3 hours so I was free to get some crafting done! 3 hours of pure bliss whilst it was odd being seperated from him for the first time since he was born, it was also the first time I've been able to relax.

I siezed the opportunity to make a card using the Friday Sketchers sketch and combined it with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge of Fairies. I used the beautiful Fairy Song stamp from Ladybug and Friends and coloured with watercolours. The papers are from My Mind's Eye. (freebie with this month's cardmaking and papercraft magazine - hurrah!) Prima flowers, Anita's crystals (birthday present from the lovely Jen. aka the other fickle pixie) and sentiment from Craftwork cards.

I hope you like it. One day I'll invest in a daylight lamp and will be able to take some half decent photos. It's Linda's birthday tomorrow so I've decided to give it to her. Fingers crossed she wont see this post before then, but considering she's not blogged since October, I may be ok...

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Week 83

You guessed it, it's nap time again - hurrah! I love the peace and quiet that I get at this time of day. I just wish it was a bit longer so I could craft and attempt to make the house look vaguely tidy. It looks like a tornado hit 2 months ago and no one has even tried to put it straight again. I hate cleaning and tidying so the crafting always wins, although my hubby is starting to comment about the mess so, I probably ought to do something about it.

Its my mum's birthday tomorrow so I thought I'd make a card using the PBSC sketch. I also selected pink and brown papers so that I could enter the Quixotic Challenge 'Hot Chocolate' but I didn't get the card finished in time. One comp is better than none, so here it is. Let me know what you think!
Making cards for challenges is making me realise that I really need to invest in some more nestabilities...roll on my birthday :)

I've used the Penny Black image 'Sweet Slumber' and coloured with watercolours. The birthday sentiment is from craftwork cards. The papers and ribbon are from my stash.

Time to get the hoover out...

Friday Sketchers - First Post Ever!

Happy Snowy Sunday!

Having spent a week looking at everyone's blogs and being inspired by the amazing cards on display, I thought I'd get my act together and make a card during my 6 week old son's afternoon nap.

I've created a card using the Friday Sketchers sketch (gramatically, there must be a better way of writing that! - LOL). I must confess I'm a bit disappointed with the results, but that'll teach me to rush something during nap time :O)

The papers are from Hunkydory and the stamp is by Butterfly Kisses. I've coloured using H2Os and added a ribbon from my stash.

Oh dear, looks like nap time is over. Time for a feed, don't you just love feeling like a dairy cow ;O)

Hopefully I'll be back soon
Nx

P.S. here's my little boy...
