Malawi - Day 4

Back to work on the construction site for most of the group with Maja, Kathleen and Vasiliki spending the day at the nursery and going on an outreach visit. An excellent experience to see where the kids live when they are go back to the community. It was an emotionally heavy morning.

At the building site, more brick making, brick moving and hole digging was the order of the day. We’re making 600 bricks a day! Each is pressed in a mould and left out to dry in the sun for 7 – 14 days.

We had dinner with a view and sunset. We were serenaded by a guitarist and singer where we held our own Irish and Belly dancing class followed by an African dancing session where the locals joined in. We then went on a mission to find a “dodgy bar” but with no joy. We returned to the cozy cottage on the lake and raided our very own beer fridge! But still Elisa and Vasiliki, want to get into the groove of the street life, although they were too scared to walk 50 meters alone in the dark!

Party animal in the kitchen, Elisa,is baking... its 9pm... but it feels like 1am! (Yes, for some of us its really only 8pm, but we like to pretend that isn’t really true)
